LaneCharge – Innovation for a sustainable mobility: semi-dynamic inductive charging of electric vehicles

duration

01.06.2019 - 31.05.2023

project description

Within the project, an inductive charging system for vehicles with the application of taxi stands is being developed. LaneCharge is sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure within the funding guideline electro mobility with 3.7 million €. The funding line is coordinate by the NOW GmbH and implemented by the Project Management Organization Jülich.

Compared to existing stationary charging system, a quasi-dynamic charging scenario is being designed. During the project, a testing ground at the HsH as well as a taxi stand with inductive loading coils at the central station Hannover are being implemented. There HsH performs an economic analysis with the taxi and energy industry. Thanks to the public presence of the taxi industry the current opinions should be improved. Therefore, the project contributes an important part to the switch to electric vehicles. The so far missing profitability of electric vehicles in the taxi industry can be achieved with an inductive charging system, since the continuous interim charging leads to a battery with a smaller capacity and thus lowers the weight as well as the costs.
